trapped from flight

so the whole of this painting sucks really, really bad or i'd suck it up and show it. however, i named the painting after this one tiny part that i just love. i keep telling myself i'll repaint it someday, but i never do. i had been calling it 'enraged painting' since i did it on one of those nights you could just kill a certain someone. however now that my life has changed i've changed the name to what i hope the painting will come to represent soon... "trapped from flight". of course the red is symbolic in its typical nature.

thoughts inside a box

ok this is kind of dumb. i had sketched this painting idea over a year ago and really wanted to see it in paint. i don't paint things i drew very well so this was somewhat of a challenge for me. it was supposed to be very symbolic while an expirement with complimentary and contrasting colors. i enjoyed the theoretical part of how and where things should change. some text is trapped, some chaotic. i don't think it came out saying it had a hidden message like i had hoped. but oh well, as i said before, for me it's more a thought expirement.

life drawing

hoping this is okay to post. you never know these days where the line between art and unacceptable drawings fall. however this is from life drawing, not my best but i enjoyed the fuzzy hat she's always wear. made the composition more fun.

adolescent graphic design

so this is some graphic stuff i did way before i thought about doing graphic design for a profession. i enjoyed playing with effects and learning how i could manipulate an image. it opened my eyes to looking at something past its face value.

drawing one, i believe

random part of a larger display i did for drawing one. there are four boards, each a collage spelling out the word 'love'. elementary but for sentimental reasons i like it.

random drunken art

this is a painting a fellow friend in the graphic program and i did. there were a couple splatters from several other individuals, but mainly the work of two. i'm not sure she wants to be attached to our chaos publicly so i'll leave her anonymous. but incase you couldn't tell i am a huge fan of jackson polluck. still looking for a guy who would let me name my son that, lol. anyway, i enjoy his control and relate to his hard life. i admire his work because i feel that there is so much passion in it that you can almost feel him in his paintings.

question

i am doing wedding invitations and mailers for the reception of my sister's wedding. unfortunately she doesn't know when or where they are taking place yet. being quite picky but not a designer herself she keeps sending me a thousand samples for what she likes. if anyone has any experience or suggestions please let me know. i could really use a first step.
thanks
